I totally didn't come back to blog.
Wooops!
Anyway.
I have been thinking about the Dodgers and how, umm, awful they have been lately. It has been difficult to watch, for all of us and each day our rivals gain on us. The Yankees now have the best record in baseball, an honor LA had carried since the 10th game of the season. Our hitters are slumping. It's a fact. Manny has been slumping until as recently as the last couple of days. Aside from the slap fest with the Braves where they scored more runs in Dodger stadium than ever the last few weeks have been exhausting.
They were winning every series. 2/3 at least, every series. Then there was the All Star Break.
The dreaded All Star break.
The Dodger curse of the All Star break. It happened to Russell last season. Went to the All Star game and came back and hit .200. This year it seems apparent this phenomenon is affecting the Dodgers. Something about this time of the season just kills their drive. We should expect more dark times ahead but not for long. We have a major opportunity to take control of this division and solidify our spot at the two time NL west champions. Going to San Francisco and taking a series is VERY IMPORTANT. Not only for CA bragging rights but for our position in first place. It is going to be a very exciting September. We just gotta deal with stupid august.
They need to rest.
They need to relax and play ball. Enjoy it. Smile.

Ok, let's get back into this thing.
I used to write for every game and that is a hard thing to keep consistent. I am sorry though, that I haven't been writing during such news worthy times. Manny's slumping return, Manny's pharmaceutical history, the trades or lack thereof, Joe Torre's amazing managing, Manny's Grand Slam, Steve Lyons's hair, Charlie Steiner's boozing on the mic, Kemp's gold glove, Ethier's 22, Broxton's 100, Prince Fielder, etc
No excuses, no need to know why life kept me away but the dog is out of the crate and it's time for Dodger baseball!
Tonight. We blog.
To hold you over....

It's been awhile
and I am truly sorry for that. Been busy as hell, school, two jobs, injured and recovering puppy...crazy.
But today, after celebrating a wonderful Independence Day I am writing about my team again.
Los Doyers.
Last night I got into a discussion. Well, what I saw as a discussion but was apparently an argument to the Giants fans I was talking to. Still, the ultimate determination was that Barry Bonds sucks and Manny Ramirez is awesome.
Conversation over.
WIN!

40!
Dodgers make another season landmark for 2009, first team to 40 wins and they were the last team to 20 losses.
102 games to go and we look like we'll win about 55-60 more. Let's get to 100 wins in 09 and take it all the way, shall we?
Vinny....LEAD THE WAY!!!

LMAO
Who wants to get a pool going on how many games the Dodgers win by taking a walk off walk?
I must say this though...
When a team wins by taking a walk off walk, they ARE the better team that day. I don't care what anyone says. When you can sit there, bottom of 9 or 10 or 11, and you have bases loaded and can stare down 4 pitches out of the zone, you deserve to win. And when you are a pitcher who is in that same situation and can't get the ball over the plate, you deserve to lose.
Go Blue. F the Angels.

Looking good, boys! Looking good!
These guys are really looking great this season. Here's the thing though...
Why are all of the faces not showing up to play? Furcal, Ramirez, Martin...they all, well, 2/3 of them are having pretty shitty seasons. Furcal, 7 errors so far? SEVEN?! As a short stop this is really not acceptable but he is Raffy so we deal. Martin? Come on dude. What happened? I postulate he has the curse of Alyssa Milano. Somehow, someway, she cursed him just like all the other ball players she has cursed. Even the hint of a rumor can curse a player. Also, she modeled Giants gear. For shame...
and Ramirez....
We won't talk about him right now.
Although, we should take the 8 million we are saving during his suspension and give it straight to this man...
That's right. As the EPSN crew call him, Slappy McPopup is kicking major ass right now. Stelaing bases, getting on base, scoring runs, playing the outfield....he deserves to keep playing when Manny comes back if he keeps this up.
My dad puts it best...
"We don't need no stinking dopers!"
And it's true.
Keep rolling, best team in baseball.
THIS IS OUR YEAR!!!!

Been a few days...
Love picking up 2 of 3 off the World Champs!! These road games are MAJOR, mainly because we have to prove to MLB that we can win outside of our division and this is a good start. A sweep would have been great but this is good. Onto Florida for some deep sea fishin'!!

In the words of my father...
WE DON'T NEED NO DOPERS!!!
Too true.
Great show today for Stults. Dude is really stepping up to the rubber and impressing some people. Great job, guy.
GO BLUE.
PS, Matt Kemp still deserves a Gold Glove.
